Volleyball Draws LSU in NCAA Tournament

The NCAA Tournament is becoming a familiar event for the Tulane volleyball program, and in the 2009 edition, the Green Wave will certainly face a familiar opponent. Earning an at-large bid to the dance for the program’s second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, the Green Wave will meet LSU for the third time this season, Friday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge.

Senior running back André Anderson ran for 105 yards and a touchdown to become just the fourth player in Green Wave history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, but it was not enough as the Tulane University football team fell to Conference USA foe SMU, 26-21, Saturday afternoon at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.

Women’s Basketball Falls In Overtime To No. 7 LSU, 73-65

For 40 minutes, the Tulane University women’s basketball team gave No. 7 LSU all it could handle, and then some. In five post-regulation minutes, however, the Tigers finally pulled away from their up-to-the-challenge opponent as the Green Wave dropped a hard-fought 73-65 overtime decision to LSU Saturday night at Fogelman Arena.
