Tulane Golfers in 16th Place Following First Round of Mason Rudolph

Tulane junior Linn Gustafsson carded an even-par 72 and entered the clubhouse sitting in 36th place and the Green Wave combined for an 8-over par 296 total and is in 16th place after day one of the 2009 Mason Rudolph Championships at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.

Cross Country Charges into LSU Invitational

Coming off a second-place finish at the Mook 4 Invitational, the Tulane women’s cross country team look to keep the momentum going as the team, along with the men’s squad which placed fifth at the Mook 4, enters the LSU Invitational Saturday at Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge. Junior Rebecca Coady is coming off a victory at the Mook 4, while sophomore Brian Lozes looks to pace the men’s team for the third straight time.

The 31st-ranked Tulane women’s golf team returns to action this weekend as the Green Wave faces a competitive field in the 2009 Mason Rudolph Women’s Championship at the par-72, 6,217-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course in Franklin, Tenn. Fans can follow each round of the tournament at www.GolfStat.com. The first round will get underway on Friday, Sept.

Women’s Tennis To Participate In Rice Classic Over Weekend

Fresh off a solid performance at last week’s Memphis Collegiate Invitational, the Tulane University women’s tennis team will look to build some momentum for the rest of the season when the Green Wave travel to Houston to participate in the Rice Classic over the weekend at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.

Men’s Tennis Heads to Southern Miss

The Tulane men’s tennis program continues its fall slate this weekend at the Southern Miss Invitational. Play opens Friday at the new Southern Miss Tennis Courts in Hattiesburg, Miss. The Green Wave will face a pair of C-USA opponents in Southern Miss and UAB, as well as regional foe UNO.

Siegel Wins Gray 3 Draw In Final Day Of Memphis Invitational

Sophomore Sharon Siegel capped a perfect weekend with a straight-sets win over Belmont’s Lauren Irick, while Caroline Gerber and Emma Levy rallied from first-set deficits to pick up wins of their own, as the Tulane University women’s tennis team completed play in the Inaugural Memphis Collegiate Invitational Sunday at the Racquet Club of Memphis and WellWorx Fitness Club.

Eric Peterson was named Director of the Tulane men’s and women’s cross-country and track and field programs, Director of Athletics Rick Dickson announced on Wednesday. Peterson, a former distance runner at the University of Oregon, spent the previous 16 seasons at UCLA and will take over the Green Wave programs immediately.
