Tulane University baseball standouts Conrad Flynn and Sam Honeck were named first team All-Louisiana while Josh Prince was named to the second team, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced Sunday.

Tulane junior track and field athlete Nicolette Taku was named one of 12 recipients of the Conference USA Spirit of Service awards Wednesday, joining 11 other spring sport student-athlete who excel in and outside the athletic arena.

Kizzee Sets Personal Best in 200m at NCAA Championships

Tulane junior sprinter Olivia Kizzee set a personal best in the semifinals of the 200-meter dash at the 88th Annual NCAA Men’s and Women’s Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday. She advanced to the semis with a 23.80 time in the prelims and then turned in a 23.45 for a new best mark in the semis, to finish 16th.

Three More Wave Baseball Members Drafted to Majors

Josh Zeid, Sam Honeck and Taylor Rogers mark the third, fourth and fifth members of the Green Wave club to be selected in the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Zeid was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 10th round while Honeck was picked up by the New York Mets in the 11th round

Tulane junior Olivia Kizzee begins the The 88th Annual NCAA Men’s and Women’s Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Wednesday, taking part in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Ark.
