Kizzee Qualifies for NCAA Championships

Tulane junior Olivia Kizzee posted a personal best time of 23.49 in the 200-meter, finishing fifth at the NCAA Mideast Regional and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships. She also placed sixth in the 100-meter with a time of 11.58.

Five Tulane student-athletes from the Green Wave track & field team will be in action Friday as the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships begin in Louisville, Ky. The Green Wave are entered in seven events, as Olivia Kizzee qualified for the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.

The Green Wave were on the losing end of a 3-1 ball game Friday night as Tulane fell to Southern Miss 3-1 in what would be the Wave’s final Conference USA Tournament game.

Senior Effort Extends Baseball Season In 3-0 Win Over ECU

The 2009 senior class of the Tulane wasn’t ready to end their season, as right-hander Josh Zeid tossed a solid outing and received defensive support from outfielder Drew Allain who gunned out two Pirate runners at the plate to save runs as well as a two-RBI knock from Scott Powell to propel Tulane (34-24) over East Carolina 3-0 in the Friday afternoon matchup.

Conference USA will offer online streaming video of every game in the C-USA Baseball Championship. Current annual subscribers to Green Wave All-Access can watch Tulane’s games for free, while others can access them on a pay-per-view basis.

Honeck, Schaffer, Prince Garner All-Conference Honors

After putting up impressive numbers during the regular season, Tulane’s Sam Honeck and Jeremy Schaffer were named First Team All-Conference USA Tuesday on the eve of the 2009 C-USA Baseball Championship, while junior shortstop Josh Prince received second team recognition. Schaffer was also named to the All-Freshman team.

Tulane Wraps C-USA Outdoor Championships

Junior Olivia Kizzee turned in a pair of second place performances as the Tulane track & field teams wrapped up the 14th annual Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Tulsa. Kizzee was the runner up in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.

Baseball Takes Home Final Regular Season Series with 5-3 Win Over Herd

Tulane ended their regular season play on a high note, as the Green Wave won their sixth straight Conference USA series with the 5-3, six-inning victory over host Marshall on the heels of Sam Honeck’s big two-out knock and Nick Pepitone’s arm. The game was paused in the top of seventh due to a heavy rain storm and after a long delay, the game was called as the weather never relented, giving Tulane the C-USA win to improve to 32-23 and 13-11 in conference play.
