NEW ORLEANS -
The Tulane University women’s track and field team travels to El Paso,
Texas this weekend for the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field
Championship meet held at Kidd Field.

Last year, the Green Wave finished seventh at the C-USA Championships, and seeks to improve that standing this weekend. Click here for live results of the C-USA Championships.

Competing for the Green Wave in the short sprints will be senior Andrea Rosemond and Jasmine Momoh in the 100-meter dash, and Rosemond, Momoh, senior Kyra Lobbins and sophomore Olivia Kizzee in the 200-meter dash. Lobbins, Kizzee, sophomore Valencia Wilson and freshman Aieshia Brooks will run the 400m, while senior Shanon Beelendorf, junior Vanessa Kienast and freshman Zandria Debowles run the 400m hurdles. Beelendorf has already qualified for the NCAA Regional in the 400m hurdles.

Freshman Rebecca Coady
will run the 1,500-meter run and the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Coady
set the Tulane standard in the steeplechase earlier this season. Senior
Aubrey Phillips, junior Keriann Langley and freshman Laurie Dalrymple
will run the 5,000m, while Phillips and Dalrymple run the 10,000m.
Phillips has qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 10,000m, which
does not compete at the regionals.

Rosemond, Momoh, Lobbins and Kizzee will run the 4×100-meter relay,
while a combination of Beelendorf, Kienast, Wilson, Brooks, Kizzee,
Lobbins or Momoh will run the 4×400-meter relay. Sophomore Arielle Minor
will attempt to tackle the heptathlon on Thursday. Minor is the only
C-USA athlete thus far in 2008 to record a score in the heptathlon.

Sophomore Nicolette Taku,
who qualified for the NCAA Regional in the triple jump, will compete in
the event at the C-USA Championships, as well as the long jump.
Freshman Brree Carter will compete in the long jump, while freshman Peggy Keplinger tackles the pole vault. Junior Katarina Busljeta will throw the discus and the hammer. Busljeta set the school record in the hammer throw earlier this season.
